Hey Man

Hey Man

"I look back and see we've been having quite an adventure together..."

"Hey man." You see what I just did there? (The hay man in the picture...) Yep, Dad jokes. Fathering three, going on four children now, and my sense of humor has never been better! Just wanted to say hello and also welcome you to our family memoirs (or blog, journal, news feed... whatever you want to call this thing).

It took a little persuading my wife, but I've convinced her to join me on this vulnerable venture. As we are driving in the car, I made my appeal to her emotional side–laying it on nice and heavy. "Our whole family would love to have updates on us and the kids–our stories, pictures, and videos. Just think about Grammie, she'd love it. Our mothers would totally love this! Even our children could have it as they grow up and they could always go back and enjoy the memories. It could be like our digital family album. Our friends and even other random people could find it and might also enjoy it. It could be good... it'll be fun!" And after all my vision casting (or the sentimental appeal met by sensitive hormones induced by pregnancy) she agreed. So here we go!

The truth is, I wouldn't want to do these memoirs without her. I'm going to get a little sappy and say I wouldn't want to do life at all without her. Coming up on our five year wedding anniversary, I look back and see we've been having quite an adventure together. There are days to enjoy and other days to endure, but everyday I'm beyond grateful for the blessing she is. There are so many stories to share and so much that God has done in us and through us (maybe more in her than in me... she actually grew our family members in her body–it's amazing really).

All this to say, I'm excited to share some of our moments through these memoirs (and maybe throw in an accessional throw back here and there). Thank you for taking time to read this and hope you stay tuned.

Peace and grace, André
