So this weekend was quite a whirlwind, but I was given the opportunity to preach a sermon at my church and here’s what I shared…
While cleaning out my attic, packing to prepare for a huge move, I came across this picture of my first born as a newborn.
With so much mystery in raising this boy, I have so many reasons to lean into it all and see to it that I’m as fully present as possible... it seems like you can just blink and miss out.
It's surreal for me seeing them with the new little one. It wasn't too long ago that they were just as tiny... but now they are growing up in what feels like overnight.
Isn't mercy something that we all need (the thing of not getting what we deserve)? And with raising children, how do we teach them to have mercy?
How many times have you heard someone tell you that today? Zero? It's not surprising when this is the age of criticism and judgement on every level.
Is it just me, or is parenting a very thankless job? Especially fatherhood!
